For this bold bandana design, Isaiah poured his own identity as a Lakota artist into a piece rooted in traditional Indigenous portraits and geometry. The riders at the center of the design are shown in full regalia, surrounded by patterns that nod to Lakota latticework.

The featured portraits that anchor each corner of the design profile a Chief and a young woman in the stoic poses often found historic Lakota imagery. Like much of Isaiah's other work, "Lakota" expertly conveys centuries of history, culture, pride, and meaning into a designs that serves as a tribute to his people.

Sage to Saddle

Sage to Saddle is 501c3 nonprofit organization based in the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. The organization was started by Nate Bressler with help from local ranchers and Lakota elders. Their mission is to reconnect youth with their equestrian heritage through riding activities, trail rides, and building riding arenas that can also serve as warm place for after-school studies during harsh winter months. Rotating through arena activities and the required time for completing homework in the attached classroom, students of the program will be given the opportunity to carry on a horse nations tradition with the very animal that made their survival possible.

Isaiah's own passion for horses and traditional horsemanship gives him a personal connection to this cause, and we're honored to team up with him to support this amazing organization.
